Volunteer as a Grassroots Football Coach

Coaching football is incredibly rewarding and demanding in equal measure.

Grassroots clubs like ours rely on volunteer coaches, whose commitment enables children to play week in week out.

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our coaching team.

For all of our coaches, we provide:

  • Kit (training t shirt and jacket)

  • Equipment (cones, balls, bibs, first aid kit)

  • Funding for Introduction to Coaching Football qualification, required First Aid, Safeguarding qualifications and DBS checks

  • Support of other coaches across the club

  • An annual social event

Requirements

You do not have to an experienced coach or have your qualifications already in order to volunteer. But here’s what you will need:

  • A genuine love of the game

  • Enthusiasm for helping children to develop and to enjoy football

  • Commitment to once weekly training sessions during the season and generally a match each week

  • Commitment to complete required qualifications (funded by the club)

FAQs

Can I coach my own child?

If you have a child you wish to bring to the club and you wish to coach them as part of a team, this could very well be possible. Many of our coaches get involved because they coach teams their children are on. If your child joins an existing team with a coach in place, you can enquire about assisting that coach.

Equally, if you have a child and some friends and wish to form a new team at the club, get in touch and we can discuss this with you.

How to get started?

Get in touch with us in the first instance and we can talk through the process of getting involved in more detail.
